BEEF AND PORK MINCE MEATBALLS IN TOMATO BASIL SAUCE

INGREDIENTS:

FOR THE MEATBALLS:

250g beef mince
250g pork mince
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 egg
2 cloves garlic, minced 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
Salt and pepper to taste

FOR THE TOMATO BASIL SAUCE:

1 can (400g) crushed tomatoes
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
1 tsp sugar
Salt and pepper to taste

 

 


COOKING INSTRUCTIONS:

For the Meatballs: In a bowl. combine beef mince, pork mince, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic. fresh parsley, salt, and pepper. Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1.5 inches in diameter. Preheat a skillet over medium-high heat with a drizzle of olive oil. Brown the meatballs on all sides until cooked through, about 8-10 minutes. Remove and set aside.

For the Tomato Basil Sauce: In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for a minute until fragrant. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, fresh basil, sugar, salt, and pepper. Simmer the sauce for 10-15 minutes until it thickens.

To Serve: Place the meatballs back into the skillet with the tomato basil sauce. Let them simmer together for another 10 minutes to soak up the flavors.
